Flournoy Menefee, Jr., Dies in Philadelphia

Flournoy Menefee, Jr., 52, former Washington businessman, died Tuesday at Osteopathic Hospital, Philadelphia, after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. today, at the Pumphrey Funeral Home, 8434 Georgia avenue, Silver Spring, Md. Burial will be in Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Md. Born in Liberty, Mo., he was the son of Mrs. Jean Gould Menefee. His father was the late Dr. Flournoy Menefee, former president of the Washington College for Girls. For many years Mr. Menefee was stationed here as a salesman for various rubber companies. Recently he had been connected with the Armstrong Paint & Varnish Company, of Chicago.

Besides his mother, a resident of Washington, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hazel Vail Menefee, two sons, Flournoy Menefee, 3rd., Brooklyn and Staff Sergt. Jack Menefee, stationed in Florida; four daughters, Mrs. Roberta Hokanson, Chicago, Mrs. Ruth Keating, New York City, Miss Donna Menefee and Miss Myra Menefee, both of Clarksboro, New Jersey; two sisters, Mrs. Jean M. Sartwell, Bethesda, Md., and Mrs. Amelia M. Olmsted, of Wheaton, Md., and one brother, Robert Menefee, Sandusky, Ohio.
