According to on-line death information found on Familysearch.org, there was a James Granger who died in Muskingum County, OH. He was born in 1788 and died on May 28, 1874. His tombstone is located in the Moorhead family plot in the West Center Square section of the cemetery.

While searching for information about James's brother's marriage in an early Muskingum County marriage volume, I happened to see James Granger, so I collected the record while I was at it. He married Matilda Morehead on 17 Jul 1829. Volume 1818-1840 Muskingum County, physical page 191, which was really hard to find, as most of the page numbers were missing!
