age 92, of Lucedale, MS formerly of Wilmer, AL passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013. She is the daughter of the late Hobson G. and the late Elsie (Pierce) Tanner. She was married to the late Roscoe Tanner. She was a lifelong resident of Tanner Williams Community in Wilmer, AL. She was a member of Tanner Williams United Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Tanner owned and operated Roscoe's Service Center in Tanner Williams for many years. She later worked at Baker High School.
She is survived by three sons: , Dempsey (Lavern) Tanner of Wilmer, Al, Gillary (Jodi) Tanner of Wilmer, AL, Donnie (Deborah) Tanner of Wilmer, AL; one sister: Loretta (Nolan) Merritt of Lucedale, MS. 9 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her son Melvin C. "Tommy" Tanner.
The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Tanner Williams United Methodist Church, Grand Bay Wilmer Rd., Wilmer, AL with Rev. Donnie Williamson , Rev. Charles Clary and Rev. Ray Lane officiating. Burial will be in Joyner Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 26 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Tanner Williams United Methodist Church, Grand Bay Wilmer Rd., Wilmer, AL
