Lynne Christine Heckel, 51, of 2040 Holiday Road No. A3, Coralville, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at her home after a sudden illness. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home & Crematorium. Ms. Heckel was born Sept. 1, 1946 in Hinsdale, III., to Hernold Oscar and Ruth Ann (Bohlander) Baumann. She grew up in Western Springs, III., and graduated from Lyons Township High School in La Grange, 111., in 1964. She attended both Kansas University and the University of Iowa. She has lived in the Iowa City area since 1971. Survivors include one son, Daniel George Heckel of Iowa City; one daughter, Tamara Ruth Heckel of Iowa City; one brother, H. Bruce Baumann of Milwaukee; her beloved, Erin (Jeffrey White)of Coralville; one niece and three nephews. Her parents; one sister, Teresa Ann Hutchinson; and one brother, James Henry Baumann, died earlier.

She was a loving mother to her children. She also was an avid reader and loved writing, music and art.
