David Klaas De Groot, 22, of Hawaerden died suddenly Tuesday, July 6, at Hawarden Community Hospital of injuries suffered in an automobiles accident.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer United Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Ralph Pontier officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

David De Groot was born November 26, 1976, in Orange City, the son of Pieter and Sue Knibbe. He was adopted by Leonard and Sue De Groot of Orange City on January 25, 1988. He was baptized in the United Reformed faith. He attended Orange City Christian and Unity Christian High School and graduated from Geoirge Little Rock High School in 1996. He was currently employed with Kooima Manufacturing in Rock Valley. He enjoyed automobiles, fishing and outdoor activities.

Survivors include his fiancee, Pebbles Bullock of Hawarden; two children, Jasmine Marie and Jace Isaiah David De Groot; his parents; a sister and her husband, Amy and Dan Van Voorst of Sioux Center; three brothers Shawn Knibbe and his wife Sheryl of Sioux Center, Eric Knibbe and his wife Tammy of Denver and Jan De Groot of Orange City; his grandparents, Jeanette De Groot of Orange City, Henrietta Knibbe of Sioux Center and Theodore and Laverne Fricke of Ottumwa; and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Nicole; and his grandparents, Clarence De Groot, Garrold and Alma Van Berkum and Klaas Knibbe.
