DEATHS AND FUNERALS
C.H. Schafers
C.H. Schafers died at his home, 601 West street, Stillwater, Ok., Friday, April 23, 1926, aged 67 years. Apoplexy was the cause of death.
Funeral services were held at St. Francis Xavier's church at 9 o'clock Monday morning, and interment was made in Fair Lawn cemetery.
C.H. Schafers was born in Dyersville, Io., and was married there. In 1884 he moved to Nebraska, and in 1903 the family came to Oklahoma, locating on a farm two and one-half miles south of Stillwater, where they lived until about seven years ago, when they moved to town. Mr. Schafers was stricken with apoplexy last Sunday.
The solemn requiem services Monday were conducted by the Rt. Rev. W.A. Pape, of Des Moines, Io., a brother-in-law of the decedent. He was assisted by the Rev. Victor Van Durme, of Pawhuska, formerly of Stillwater, and the Rev. E. Ghyssaert.
Five sons and three daughters, children who survive the decedent, were in Stillwater for the services. They are C.G. Schafers, Oklahoma City; Henry Schafers, Davenport, Io.; Will and Joe Schafers, Stillwater; the Rev. H.J. Schafers, Cushing; Sister Leonissa, Sioux City, Io.; Miss Mary Schafers, Cushing.
