George Alfred Stratman, 76, of Vienna, died Jul 30, 2007 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born May 7, 1931, at Vienna, the son of George Joseph and Christina Mary Luecke Stratman. He was married on Jun 1, 1957, in Jefferson City, to Nina Marie Thessen Stratman, who survives at the home. Mr. Stratman was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna where he was also a member of the church choir and a past member of the inter-parish school board. He was a Army veteran of the Korean conflict and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #8045 in Argyle where he was a past commander and chaplain of the post for almost 30 years. He was a founding member and an EMT for the Maries/Osage Ambulance District, a past member of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors and a member of the National Farmers Association. He had been employed by the Willard Stockman Construction Company, while living in Jefferson City, and after moving to Vienna, was employed by the Herb Stratman Construction Co. in Freeburg. He was also a farmer and the owner/operator of the Maries Valley Industries for television and radio repair.

Other survivors incl. three sons, Timothy M. Stratman of Corrales, New Mexico, Thomas M. Strtman of Vienna and Dennis L. Stratman of Smithville; three daughters, Sandra A. Hutchison of Vienna, Tina J. Donehue of Jefferson City, and Elaine R. Cloyde of Vienna; three sisters, Sister Agnella Stratman of Red Bud, IL, Theresa Muenks of Bonnots Mill, and Anna Kever of Loose Creek. The Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug 2 in the Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna with Msgr. Marion Makarewicz officiating. Interment with full military honors was in the Visitation cemetery in Vienna.
