Celebrating the Golden Anniversary of their marriage last December 10(1930) Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mahr, well known and esteemed residents of Clay County for the past 40 years enjoyed a reunion with their 11 children and their families, Friday, Saturday, Sunday of last week at the farm home of their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Mills, one mile west of Spencer. Forty-five composed the number participating in the observance and visit with Mr. and Mrs. Mahr. The children present, together with their families, include Mr.and Mrs. A.W. Gerth and family, of Cherokee, Mr.and Levi Mills and family of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Mahr and family, of Minneapolis, Mr.and Mrs. Jack Mahr and family from Akron Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cobb of Sheldon, Iowa Mrs. Don Eckerman and family of Spencer, Mr. and Mrss. Lee Mahr and family of Seward, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Erickson of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mahr and family of Minneapolis, Mrs. Charles Anderson and family, also of Minneapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Mahr were presented with fifty dollars in gold from their children and their families, and also received numerous congratulation cards and greetings and gifts from other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Robert Mahr, a resident of Spencer since 1924, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lilla Eckerman, 306 West third street, Spencer, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 19 days. She had been in failing health the last year, being confined to her bed since last November.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Jones funeral chapel Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. H. E. Hutchinson pastor of the Methodist church in charge. Mrs. C. D. Eckerman will preside at the piano and Mrs. Frank Parks will sing. Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery.

Elizabeth Croissant was born at Peru, Ill., Nov. 18, 1856, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Robert Mahr of Streator, Ill., Dec. 10, 1879, and the following year they moved to Atlantic, Ia. from there they moved to Nebraska and in 1885 they homesteaded at Oberlin, Kan., which was their home for five years.

Lived at Everly
In 1890 they came to Clay county, residing at Everly 12 years, where Mr. Mahr was engaged in the blacksmith business. Later they took up farming and lived near Spencer before they retired in 1924.

Mr. and Mrs. Mahr celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary six and one-half years ago, and each year since the family have held a reunion. All children have been at home within the last week. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Mahr, all of whom survive their mother, along with Mr. Mahr.

Children surviving are: Mrs. Anna M. Gerth and Mrs. Levi Mills, Spencer; J. A. Mahr, Minneapolis, Minn.; Jack Mahr, Yankton, S. D.; L. A. Mahr, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. H. S. Cobb, Sheldon; Lee Mahr, Seward, Neb.; Mrs. Elmer Erickson, Spencer; H. E. Mahr, and Mrs. Charles Anderson, Minneapolis, Minn.

There are 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Mahr attended the Methodist Episcopal church.
