(Anderson) Deike. She graduated
from Dubuque High School in 1963
and received her bachelor's degree
in math education from the University
of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls,
in 1966. She married Dennis Ploeger
at the Orchard Hill Reformed
Church in Cedar Falls Feb. 19, 1966.
The couple moved to Glidden in
1967, where Karen taught junior and
senior high math and was director of
the talented and gifted program. In
1971, she received a master's degree
in guidance and counseling from
Colorado State University.
She was preceded in death by her
father, Don Deike, a native of the
Storm Lake area.
