Obit: Peter W. Lembeck of Wappingers Falls died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the age of 48. Born July 13, 1955 in New York City to Ruth and John Lembeck. Raised in Mount Vernon, Peter was a Mount Vernon Volunteer Firefighter, Chief of Operations of Yonkers Volunteer Ambulance Corps (1977-1982) and an EMS Lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department since 1981. Peter was heroically involved in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center after 9/11/01. Loving, devoted and proud father of John and David of Somers. Dedicated son of Ruth and the late John Lembeck of Mount Vernon. Devoted brother of Jamie of Buffalo. Peter is survived by innumerable close friends and brothers and sisters in uniform who will dearly miss his caring, loving and giving spirit. Calling hours will be at Flynn Memorial Home on Central Park Ave. on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service for Peter will take place at the funeral home on Monday, November 24, 2003 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, 500 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. 800-225-0292.
