Streicher, Johann Andreas, b. Stuttgart (Germany), Dec. 13, 1761, d. Vienna, May 25, 1833, composer, piano maker, friend of F. von Schiller, with whom he fled from Stuttgart in 1782, and of L. van Beethoven. From 1794 lived in Vienna, where he married Maria Anna (Nanette) Stein, daughter of the piano maker Johann Andreas Stein. Both he and in particular Nanette looked after L. van Beethoven during the last years of his life.
