Funeral services were held Sept. 8, 1958 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church for Ernest M. W. Villbrandt. The Rev. Jacob Askeland officiated.


Pallbearers were Ralph Shullz, Earl Meyer, George Hendricks, Andrew Rotix, Fred Krohmer and Alfred Endahl.


Burial was in the Charity Cemetery southeast of Wessington Springs.


Ernest Marlin William Villbrandt, son of William and Johanna Villbrandt, was born Nov. 16, 1873, in Baldenblin, Germany and died Sept. 4, 1958 in St. John's Hospital in Huron, S.D.. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith Nov. 23, 1873. He came to america at the age of 10 with his parents and settled eight miles southeast of Wessington Springs where he resided until his death. In 1903 he was married to Miss Ida Augustine. She died six years later. To this union five children were born.

He was married to Alice Bussee on Aug. 5 1913. To this union five children were born.


Survivors include his widow; seven children, Otto, Henry, William and Martin, all at home; Anna, Mrs Frank Pettrie, rural Wessington Springs; Alma, Mrs. Harry Davis, Edgemont; Minnie, Mrs. Edward Jager, Aplena; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his 1st wife and one daughter died in infancy.
