Karen M. Drassen, 68, died Nov. 26, 2013 at Park West Plaza Retirement Community, Wichita. She was born July 4, 1945 in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Kenneth and Verna Strayer Wingert.

She was a resident of the Hutchinson, Inman and Wichita areas and previously California. She was an avid craftswoman, enjoying knitting, crochet, and photography, she also truly loved dogs, especially poodles.

In December of 1979 she married Larry Drassen in Inman, KS, he preceded her in death in 2011. Survivors include her children; Lisa Schmidt, Wichita, KS, Joe Drassen (Shelley), Valley Center, KS, Susan Patton, Austin, TX, and Amy Drassen Ham (David), Wichita, KS, a brother, Bill Wingert, Hutchinson, three sisters; Barb Williams, Hutchinson, Cindy Wingert, Colorado, and Teresa Schultz, Chautauqua, KS, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jan Wingert.
