Donald A. Bratzler, age 89, formerly of Clinton, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Heritage Nursing Home in Staunton, Illinois. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 P.M., also at the Chapel. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Parkinson Foundation and can be left in care of the funeral home. He owned and operated a shoe repair store in Clinton for over 50 years. He was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church and local V.F.W. Post 1894. Donald also served as a volunteer for the Clinton fire department and the Boy Scouts of America, for which he earned an award for being a 50 year volunteer. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wives Laurel and Hazel. Among survivors are two sons, Dale Bratzler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Loren Bratzler of Roanoke, Virginia, one daughter, Deborah Young of Staunton, Illinois; one sister, Kathryn Bratzler of Clinton, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
