Richard was a World War II Army/Air Corps veteran; worked for General Motors and Fisher Body in Michigan; belonged to the Freewill Baptist Church, the United Auto Workers, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Lodge; and the widower of Barbara Bahr.
He is survived by three sons, four daughters, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
