She died a the Bethel Retirement Center in Elk City early Wednesday morning. She was born at Weatherford on March 12, 1930. She attended the Weatherford Public Schools, moving with her parents to Arapaho in 1945 where she graduated from Arapaho High School in 1948.
She had attended a beauty college and had taken medical records training before going to work for Boeing Aircraft at Wichita, KS. Mrs. Novotny had lived in Elk City for the past five years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Weatherford.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Bernice Mitchell of Weatherford; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Bernice) Moore of Hoisington, KS; three brothers, Charles Mitchell of Reedley, CA, Robert Mitchell of Richardson, TX, Donald Mitchell of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Mitchell, on July 1, 1971 and a brother, John Raymond Mitchell on August 4, 1970.
