Louise May Kirschner, 89, of Wenatchee, WA, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 4, 2013, peacefully with her daughter at her side. She was born in Helena, MT, on May 4, 1924, to Robert and Eva (Beaupre) Flynn. After living in Montana for a number of years, the Flynn family moved to Leavenworth, WA. In Wenatchee, Louise secured full time employment as a young adult. On weekends, she would attend area social events with her friends. At one of them, she met her future husband, a local orchardist. Louise and Louis Kirschner were married a couple of years later in St. Joseph's Catholic Church on November 24, 1948. For a number of years, they made their home on the Kirschner family orchard, along the Wenatchee River in Cashmere. As their family grew, they needed more room and moved to their second home in Wenatchee. There, they raised their six children and eventually welcomed grandchildren for visits. Louise and Louis were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wenatchee. She kept pace with her husband by being active in various activities at the parish. For a number of years, she was the parish secretary for the pastor, including Father O'Sullivan and Father Burke. Once children were raised, she moved on to work at Wenatchee Valley College in the Registrar's Office, using one of the first computers in Wenatchee. To make her life more exciting, she took on a part-time job, checking in patients at the emergency room at Central Washington Hospital. Louise was always on the move, but her number one priority always on her mind was the love she had for Family. She never failed to show that.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; and two sons, Gary and Gordon. She is survived by three sons, Robert (Cheri) of Dallas, TX, James (Amy) of Redmond, WA and Stephen of Seattle, WA; her daughter, Paula Bennett (Charles) of Wenatchee; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wenatchee, with Interment following at Wenatchee City Cemetery.
