Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla.
Mrs. Harris was born in Tullos on November 30, 1930 to the union of Sam and Myrtle Crutchfield David and died Thursday, August 12, 2004 at her residence in Olla.
She was a retired business woman having along with her husband owned and operated the United Dollar Store, Ben Franklin Store and Harris Super Valu Grocery in Jena. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She was community leader in Olla and was Founder and President of the Cultural Center for many years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible classes as well as sang in the church choir.
She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and a woman of tremendous faith in God.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, R. Edward Harris of Olla; her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Dee Harris of mayflower, Arkansas; her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Mark Lindloff of Olla; her grandchildren, Laura Harris and Nathan Lindloff; her brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Sammy and Jo David of Baton Rouge; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and ray Simmons of Rockport, Texas and Pat and Glenn Gardner of Swartz.
Pallbearers will be Lee Breithaupt, Mac Barksdale, Ray Duke, William Moody, Bobby Stott, Ricky Stott, Randy Stott and Blake Sims.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church in Olla.
Visitation will be at the church until time of services.
