BERNSTEIN, Herman Timothy "Tim" passed on to eternity peacefully on November 6, 2005 with his daughter, Amy, by his side. He succumbed to complications from a stroke. He was 82 years old. H.T. "Tim" Bernstein was born 9-6-23 in Albany, Texas to Herman Timothy and Emma Marie Jentho Bernstein. He had 6 sisters and 2 brothers. After he finished high school in Albany, Tim worked as a machinist in Lufkin, Texas. When his family moved to Long Beach, he went to work for Procter and Gamble. In 1952 he was transferred to the new Sacramento plant. Tim worked for Procter and Gamble for 41 years. At his retirement, February 1985, he was their senior employee having worked for them longer than any other current employee. He met and married Jane Smith and raised 3 children in Sacramento. During the last months of his life, dementia stole his memory of names and faces, but he never forgot his Lord and his need for him. Tim loved his Lord Jesus Christ. He loved his family, his church, gardening, travel, fishing, and sports. But most of all, he loved being "Poppy" to his 6 grandchildren, Arianna, Aaron and Amber Nix, and Emma, Carrie, and Sadie Borghesi. He is loved much and will be missed much. Tim is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Jane; 3 children, Tina Nix (Ric) of West Chester, OH, Amy Borghesi (Derald) and Kenneth Bernstein of Sacramento; 4 sisters, Agnes Swenson of Austin, TX, Inky Dockins, Martha Wetzel and Ruth Scheffel of Southern California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Edna and Marie and his brothers, Johnny and Louis. Services to be held Friday, Nov 11, 2005 at 10am at the Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA. Viewing Thurs., Nov. 10, 2005 from 4pm-7pm. Interment to take place at East Lawn, 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may go to the Stroke Association.
