Paul John Anderson, a 39-year-old Grayslake resident, died at home Sept. 10.

He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Oct. 23, 1969.

Paul grew up in Hutchinson, Minn., and was a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Montemehedi, Minn., as well as White Bear Lake, Minn. He was a Wisconsin Patriot Guard Rider, and played semi-pro football for the Minneapolis Mayhem, which later became the Twin City Titans. An outstanding athlete, Paul loved sports, bodybuilding and his motorcycle.

He was the beloved fiancé of five years to Nancy Remus, whom he met on Memorial Day weekend in 2004; devoted step-father, friend, and role model to Cameron; cherished son of Robert Anderson; dear brother of Edward (Kris) Anderson; and fond uncle of Mark and Lauren Paterson, Audrey and Anthony Sebastiano, and Quentin Dubsky.

His mother, Sandra Anderson, as well as paternal and maternal grandparents preceded him in death.

Friends of the family visited Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium on Sept. 14. Interment took place at Avon Centre Cemetery in Grayslake.
