Ivan C. "Fritz" Metz, 85, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday at home.
Born in Auburn, Sept. 17, 1928, he was a son of the late David and Lottie Wolfe Metz.
He was the husband of Ruth E. Witman Metz.
Fritz retired from Dana Corp. in 1986 after 35 years of employment as a welder.
He was a lifetime member of South Schuylkill Farmers' Safety Club.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Metz; brothers, William, David, Elmer and Harvey Metz; and sisters, Bertha Smith, Lilly Hagg and Mary.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Ruth Ann Murphy and husband, Robert, Wilkes Barre; two sons, Barry Metz and wife, Irene, Orwigsburg, and David Metz, Summit Station; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
