Amos Curtis Jones, age 79 of Forest City died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. He was born January 21, 1934 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Allan and Redia Smith Jones. Curtis was the retired owner of C & R. Metal Fabricators of Forest City, he served in the United States Army and was a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church where he had served on various committees.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Jones of the home, daughters, Kim Jones Lingelbach and Kristi Jones Germack of Forest City, Kelly Jones Peyton of Rutherfordton, step son, Mike Wilson of Bostic, step-daughters, Felicia Beaver and Towanna White both of Forest City, a brother, Tommy Jones of Shelby, sisters, Ginny Pitman and Brenda Ellenburg both of Forest City, and his grandchildren, Mark Lingelbach, Matthew Lingelbach, Taylor Peyton, Tanner Peyton, Gillian Germack, Gracie Germack, Tyler Newton, Brooke Newton Earley, Traisha White Campfield, Taryn White and Kaylee Wilson and great grandchildren, Morgan Newton, Kinsley Campfield and Isaac Earley.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday, January 17, 2014 in the Harmon Street Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Church officiating and a eulogy offered by Mr. Steve Deese. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
