She was born May 25, 1940, the youngest of eight, daughter of Andrew and Angela Ruiz in Huntington Beach, in a ranch house where she was delivered at home.
She was known to offer a helping hand whenever she saw a need. She had a flair for decorating with an attentive eye for style and fashion. As a mother she encouraged education for her sons and grandchildren. She was a strong-willed lady with an optimistic outlook on life. Even during the darkest of times, she was able to see the lighter side with wit and humor; this was one of the many gifts she gave to those who knew her.
Sister to Lupe, Anita, Rosalie, Myra, Lydia, Alfonso and Stanley. She was married to her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, John R. Banuelos for 54 years. She was mother to John and Chris and grandmother to Jayd, Johnny and Andrew.
Her faith was strong and she would discuss the will of "her Father in Heaven." It may be a mystery for those of us remaining but, God's will may have spared Mary Lou from further suffering in this life. She was loved and will be missed by many.
