Elska and Aliedus were married July 16, 1890 in Hardin, Iowa. They lived in Cleves, Iowa until 1904. They were members of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church in Cleves. In 1904, they moved to Mountain Lake, Minnesota, where they lived for a few years. Later they relocated to Sibley, Iowa, where they remaind most of their lives. Elska went to a nursing home in Phoenix, Arizona, because of tuberculosis. Aliedus worked for the railroad for many years.
