DEATH OF MARION GOTTSCHALK
The sudden death of Miss Marion Violet Gottschalk was an event that called forth sincere expressions of sorrow on the part of the people of this community. She passed away at the local hospital in Waseca shortly before the noon hour on Friday, the 15th.
But few even of her intimate friends were aware of her illness. She was at her usual place of employment as late as Thursday. On Thursday she was taken ill and was immediately taken to the hospital. The cause of her death was acute peritonitis.
Miss Gottschalk was born in Janesville on October 6, 1903. Her entire life was spent in this community. She was the daughter of the late Chas. Gottschalk, who passed away seventeen years ago. Her age was nineteen years, two moths and nine days.
Miss Gottschalk graduated from the Janesville high school in the Class of 1920. During the last few months she has been employed with E. Miller & Co. Her genial personality and lovable character served to make her popular with the public and a general favorite wither more intimate friends. Just emerging into splendid young womanhood, it seems almost a travesty that fate should intervene and take her away.
Miss Gottschalk is survived by her mother and three brothers and one sister, Everett W. of Mankato, Floyd and Carlyn of Janesville and Mrs. H. D. Gentry of La Junta, Colorado.
The funeral was conducted yesterday afternoon at the family residence, Rev. W. J. Davidson officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Janesville cemetery.
The Argus joins in tendering the mother and brothers and sister sincere and heartfelt sympathy.
Among those from out of town to attend the funeral was Mrs. Gertie Pederson of Worthington.

TRIBUTE TO MISS GOTTSCHALK
Having been in our employ previously and almost up to the hour of her passing, we wish in this manner to pay a just and merited tribute to the fitness and excellent qualities always displayed by Miss Gottschalk. Associated with us in a business capacity for so long, her sudden death comes to us as a personal loss. We wish to say that she was a most excellent girl and faithful to every trust. In unison with many others, we wish to express our sense of loss and bereavement and to tender to the mother and brothers and sister our sincere sympathy and condolences.
