NEOLA ~ Mary "Gwen" Schnitker, 90, of Minden died Nov. 9 at Hospice House Omaha.

She was born June 3, 1914, in Neola to Leo and Margaret Burke Floerchinger. She lived in Shelby for 48 years and moved to Minden 26 years ago. She was a 1932 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She was a farm wife. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Neola.

Mrs. Schnitker was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Stub." They were married 60 years. She was also preceded by daughter, Barbara Boettger; son, Gerald; and grandson Thomas Schnitker.

Survivors include grandchildren, Jeanie Owen and husband, D.R. Owen, MD, of Omaha, Steven Boettger and wife, Jana, of Harlan, Patricia Boettger and fiancé, Ron Pash, of Shelby, Lisa Schnitker of Omaha, Pat Moffatt and husband, Ed, of Neola, Denise Podjenski and husband, Dennis, of Omaha, Cheryl Schnitker and fiancé, Kurt Schrader, of Omaha; sister, Marguerite "Thelma" Hogden, of Salt Lake City; daughter~in~law, Jan Duffy, and husband, Frank, of Omaha; son~in~law, Bill Boettger, and wife, Joyce, of Shelby; eight grandchildren; two great~great~grandchildren.

Rosary recitation will be tonight at 7 at St. Patrick's Church in Neola. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Neola, with Father Raphael Masabakhwa officiating. Burial will be in Neola. Cutler~O'Neill~Meyer~Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to Masses, American Cancer Society, Hospice House and Nebraska Methodist College.
