Agatha Maria, Moritz, and their daughters emigrated from Le Havre, France to America arriving in New York aboard the ship Saint Germain on October 30, 1884. The family traveled west and settled in Dodge County, Minnesota. They lived and farmed on a number of farms in Dodge County before purchasing a farm in 1894, in Ripley Township, Dodge County, where she lived for 31 years. Seven of their children were born in Dodge County.
Agatha Maria died April 18, 1925 in Claremont, Minnesota. She was survived by nine children, Agatha Rosecke, Catherine Lewison, Mary Simmons, Leo Baudendistle, Emma Tuisberg, Anna Brewster, Margaret Checkel, Matilda Jones, and John Baudendistle. She was also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children who died in their infancy. Moritz Baudendistle died July 8, 1931. Agatha Maria and Moritz were married 46 years. Both are interred at Saint Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery, Claremont, Minnesota.
Two interesting quotes from Agatha's obituary were: "She has lived for over forty years on South Prairie and was surrounded by many relatives and friends who will greatly miss her from the old home", and "Thus our friends, one by one cross the river, forever to be with the loved ones gone before."
Some of the information above was paraphrased from an article appearing in the Dodge Center Record, 04/23/1925.
