Cyril Johannes grew up to join St. Peter's Catholic church in Quincy Illinois, and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Eva Ruth Stratman became his bride 29 January 1941 in Quincy Illinois.
Cyril Johannes worked at Johannes Meat Market in Quincy, until he retired in about 1975.
Cyril G. Johannes died in his Quincy Illinois residence, 1 July 1978. His funeral was held at St. Peter's Catholic church in Quincy, with entombment at the Quincy Mausoleum.
