Emil Levin Peterson was born in Vastergotland, Sweden on Sept. 10, 1867 & came with his parents, John C. & Lovisa Peterson, to America in 1869, settling in Ben Wade Township of Pope County. He was baptized in Sweden & confirmed in Wennersborg Lutheran Church. He was a member of Norunga Lutheran church until the time of his death. On May 30, 1891, he was united in marriage to Ada Charlotte Rudgren. They settled on a farm in Ben Wade Township & lived there until 8 years ago when they moved to Lowry. To this union, 12 children were born, 7 of whom survive him. They are Walter, Agnes (Mrs. John R. Johnson), Jennie of Lowry, Clarence, Palmer, Mildred & Abner of Farwell. He had 4 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Minnie Benson of Panoka, Alberta, Canada is still living. Four brothers & 5 sisters preceded him in death.
