It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Lillian into Heaven at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 89 years. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Mavis (Les) Balogh and Iris (Rudy) Sirke; sons, Gerald (Imelda), Keith (Ruth) and Dennis Nagel. She was also the beloved grandmother of Lisa, Jason and Scott Nagel; Brenda (Slaferek) and Darren Nagel; Erik and Kara Sirke. Lillian is survived by her sisters, Agnes Holden, Andrea Kissner, Gladys Shea, Florence (Ray) Daniel and brother, Glenn (Ollie) Moen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Predeceased by her parents, her husband, Joe, in 1991, her son, Marvin, in 1977, five sisters, three brothers and five brothers-in-law. Lillian was born in the Hearne district and also in Moose Jaw. Following her schooling, she attended Normal School in Moose Jaw, receiving her Teacher's Diploma in 1939. Lillian taught at Amherst school for two years. On December 31st, 1941, she married Joe and the couple farmed at Claybank, where she was also involved in community work especially as organist at St. Joseph's Church in Claybank, Saskatchewan. In 1975 they retired to Moose Jaw. For many years they remained involved in square and round dancing, bowling, seniors choir and in the Cosmo Seniors Centre activities. In the fall of 2000, due to health reasons, Lillian moved to Regina to be closer to her children. Mom was fortunate in the fact that she was able to spend her final days in the peace and comfort of her suite made possible through the helpful assistance of her children. She loved her family first, then music, cards and her friends. A Family Graveside Service and interment of cremated remains will take place at the Family Plot, Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw. Flowers are most gratefully declined, however friends wishing, may make donations in memory of Lillian to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360-2nd Ave. Regina, Saskatchewan, S4R 1A6. In living memory of Lillian Inez Nagel, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
