Louise's mother Grandmother Berndt didn't want her to date William because his father Gustave was a saloon keeper and grandmother Berndt thought he would grow up to be a drunk. Well thank all mother didn't heed her advice or this Wagner clan would not exist. A God fearing woman who was totally dedicated to raising her family with strong morals and principles. The majority of her time was spent in the home providing the necessities for a growing family of seven. She made a lot of sacrifices and never complained. Her labor of love was quilt making, visiting and mailing A/G "Lives" monthly to shut-ins (to name a few) will always be remembered . But the one thing that stands out in memory is the time a drunk Joe Leonard sat incontinent on a kitchen chair while mom, the "missionary", told him about Jesus and how much He loved him. Summed up, mother was the "Rock" of the family. What more can be said.
