Carl G. Bensel, age 94, of Columbus, Montana, formerly of Miles City passed away on Sunday February 23, 2014 at his daughters home with family at his side as he went through Heavens gates, may he rest in peace.
Carl was born in Miles City, Montana on August 11, 1919, the son of Gustav Arthur and Florence (Pye) Bensel. He attended schools in Miles City and graduated from Custer County High School. He married Fern Bensel on July 23, 1958 and she passed away on December 17, 1998. At one time he owned Bensel Hatchery in Miles City. He also worked for John Etchemendy at Texaco Bulk Plant and Solid Waste as a Bookkeeper.
Carl was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Miles City.
Carl is survived by one daughter, Nikki Lee Ruth and husband; two grandchildren: Timothy Ruth and Samantha Ruth all of Columbus, Montana; four nieces: Beverly Jacobs and her husband; Julie Jordon and her children; June Hanson and Barbara Little John; five nephews: Don Lee and his family; Ed Hickel; Harry Hickel; Alan Hickel and Gary Anderson; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hickel and many extended family members.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Custer County Cemetery.
