Alfred Charles Hahn (Gramps), age 82, Ripon, WI, died Sunday, January 29, 1995, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.

He was born May 4, 1912, on the family farm south of Ripon to Rudolph and Amelia Klawitter Hahn. He attended Prairie Lawn School in rural Ripon. Upon completion of his studies he began his farming career with his father. On September 24, 1938, he married Grace Peschke and moved to a farm east of Ripon where he continued farm operation until forced into early retirement by ill health in 1968. During these years he took an active roll in the community serving for a number of years as a director for the Town Line School Board and assisting with various activities for Springvalley 4-H Club. Alfred and his wife moved to their present home on Hall St. in 1973. By 1978, his health had improved and he was able to enjoy a second career as a janitor for Naas Foods of Pickett until 1985 when poor health required a return to retirement. He was an avid gardener and a devoted care-giver to his wife for the past nine years. He was a lifelong member of Our Saviour's United Church of Christ in Ripon.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years; one daughter, Marilyn (Ron) Perr; six grandchildren, Linda (Steve) Walker of Princeton, David Hahn and his fiancé Debbie Bahr of Markesan, Joel Hahn of Ripon, Darrin (Beth) Schultz, Rhonda Perr and her Fiancée Rod Hintz and John Perr all of Ripon; three great-grandchildren, Felicia Hahn, Dakin Schultz and Stephanie Walker; two sisters, Leola (Harold) Klingbeil and Ruby Schwandt, both of Ripon; a daughter-in-law, Donna Hahn of Winona, MN; a former daughter-in-law, Evelyn Cotter of Markesan and an almost grandson, Al James of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Melvin Ray Hahn.
