Edwin T. Ley, 61, of 1989 St. Ambrose, died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday at Mercy hospital.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Church. The Rev. John J. O'Connor will offer the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
He belonged to the Holy Name Society and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
He was born at Dubuque, son of Mrs. Magdalena (Heintz) Ley and the late John N. Ley, and resided in Dubuque all his life.
For more than 20 years he was employed at the local post office as a mail carrier and on parcel post.
Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Utzig, whom he married in 1919; two daughters, Mrs. Ben (Dallas) Wuelling, Dubuque; Miss Judith Ann Ley, at home; one son, Jack Ley, at home; one granddaughter; mother, Mrs. Magdalena Ley, Dubuque; one sister, Mrs. A.J. (Lillian) Loecke, Dubuque; two brothers, Leroy and Clarence Ley, both of Dubuque.
Members of St. Anthony's parish will meet at the Hoffmann Mortuary at 8 p.m. Wednesday to recite the Rosary.
