Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m. from St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Raleigh, North Dakota, with Father Gary Benz officiating. Parish Vigil at 7 p.m. MDT Thursday at the church. Burial in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Raleigh.
Theresa was born June 10, 1916, at Raleigh, to August and Scholastica (Volk) Nagel. She was raised and educated in the Raleigh area and married Mike Miller July 06, 1936, at Raleigh. After their marriage, she and Mike farmed in the Raleigh area until their retirement in 1980. She and Mike continued to live on a farmstead near Raleigh.
She was a faithful servant of Eucharistic Adoration at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Theresa was known as an excellent cook with a special recipe for making pies for which she supplied for the school and church bazaars. Theresa and Mike were proud of having been part of the original builders of St. Gertrude Catholic School. Catholic education for her children was a priority and she was proud of the fact that all of her children got education. Her family was central in ner life, looking forward to family gatherings and celebrations as a high point in her life. These special memories will be cherished by her loving family and all of her friends.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Mike, of Raleigh; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ervin and Evelyn, Fargo, North Dakota, Milo and Virginia, Mandan, Elmer and Sharon, Raleigh, and Michael, Dickinson, North Dakota; three daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Paul Mattern, Watertown, South Dakota, Janice and Bob Quickstad, Whitewood, South Dakota, Patricia and Edwin Barth, Dickinson; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Isadore Miller, Flasher and Baldwin Gross, Bismarck; and three sisters-in-law, Ann and Margaret Miller both of Bismarck, Agnes and NonSen Lonning of Rolla, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Miller; three grandchildren, Patrick Matthern, Milo Miller, Bruce Ogaard; one great grandchild, Casey Paul Jones; her parents; two brothers, Gabriel and John; five sisters, Rufina, Margaret, Praxeda, Gertrude, and Ottilia; also six other brothers and sisters who died in Romania, Europe.
