Ingrid Kristina "Inky" Barnes, age 88, a native of Wellsville, NY and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014.
Inky was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Daphne. She was a graduate of Wellsville High School and attended Wagner College, Staten Island, NY. Inky was also the church secretary at St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church for 15 years.
Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Barnes.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Rene' (Joseph) Hemmerich of Sparta, WI; Sons, Brian David Karlsson-Barnes of Boston, MA, Douglas Mark (Margie) Barnes of Loxley, AL; Sisters, Maj Britt of Willow Street, PA,Inga Britt of New Berlin, NY; Four grandchildren, Josh (Nikki) Hemmerich, Jessica (Kyle) Erickson, Kristina Barnes, Stephan Barnes; Nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 11:00am.
Interment will be in Jubilee Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, www.cancer.org.
