MYRTLE L. KOENNING

SHINER - Myrtle Lucile Koenning, 67, of Shiner, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998.

She was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Lavaca County, to Emma Mueller Bengsch of Shiner and the late Emil A. Bengsch. She was a homemaker and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary and was a Lutheran.

Survivors: daughters, Merle Siegel, Joy Machacek, Claudine Hajek and Roberta Caka, all of Shiner and Claudette Ideus of Bay City; sons, Harold E. Koenning Jr., and Earl Koenning, both of Shiner; mother; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: husband, Harold E. Koenning Sr.; daughter, Carolyn Koenning; brother, Alton Bengsch; and one granddaughter.

Prayer service will be 7:30 p.m. today at Buffington Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at United Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, the Rev. Charles Eckert officiating.

Burial will be at Shiner Cemetery. Buffington Funeral Home, Shiner, 361-594-3352.
