"LAST BUT ONE OF THE PIONEER KNACK FAMILY WHO SETTLED IN BEECHWOODS Mrs Eva Gorr, a resident of the Petersburg section below North Branch for the last 22 years, died at her home there Feb 9 of chronic brights disease from which she had long been a sufferer.
She was in her 77th year.
Burial took place in the North Branch cemetery on Monday Feb 12, in charge of Undertaker Yager. Rev J E Straub conducted the service.
Mrs Gorr was born in Frankfort, Germany, and came to America at the very early age with her parents, the late M & M Phlip Knack, who settled in the Beechwoods over 70 years ago.
She ws the lat but one of the Knack family, the only survivor now being her brother, Peter Knack of Beechwoods, who is still hale at the age of 85 years.
Mrs Goor was married in Beechwoods to Henry Gorr, another native of Germany, and spent a good part of her married life in Beechwoods.
Besides her husband she leaves the following ten daghters and sons; Mrs Chas. H. Reichman of the town of Fremont, Mrs George A Eller of Callicoon, John of Tennanah Lake, Philip of Beechwoods, Chas. H of Callicoon, Conrad, William and August of Middletown, and Misses Annie and Harriet, who lived with their mother. Mrs Gorr also leaves forty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
