W. M. P. Millar Dead
W. M. P. Millar, the prominent merchant of Asotin, died suddenly last Monday evening about eight o'clock. He had returned to the store after supper and soon complained of distress in his chest. He slapped his breast and said he believed he was going to die. He was sitting by the stove. An effort was made to get to the door and perhaps get him home, but he was suffering so severely that he could not be removed. He sank down and died in a very few minutes. The cause was apoplexey. Mr. Millar was for many years a well known and popular citizen of Lewiston, having been foreman in Mr. Alexander's mercantile house for many years. His wife is a daughter of Max Alexander of this city. He leaves a wife and three children with a host of friends to mourn his loss. Mr. Millar was a prominent member of the fraternal societies of this city, being an active member of the Odd Fellows and the A. O. U. W. lodges. His age was 46 years 11 months and 11 days. He was brought to this city for interment. The funeral took place yesterday under the auspices of the lodges of which he was an honored member. The family has lost a kind husband and father and a noble protector and the community a useful citizen.

Wm. M. Millar died suddenly at Lewiston Feb. 23, of heart disease. He formerly resided in this county as was lessee of the Cottonwood house in 1880. For several years past he has been with J. Alexander at Lewiston.
