Maria C. Rodriguez, 93, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999 in a local hospital. Mrs. Rodriguez was born in Minera, TX. and had been a Laredo resident for the majority of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felipe Rodriguez, her parents, Domingo Castro and Canuta Facundo de Castro, daughters, Estella Rodriguez, Esperanza R. Rodriguez and Margarita Najera, by two of her sons, Oscar Rodriguez and Jose Najera, her brothers, Natividad Castro, Fidel Castro, Isabel Castro and Atilano Castro.
She is survived by her children, Elvira Siller, Eloisa Hernandez, Lamar (Antonio) Peña, Celia (Daniel) Tijerina, Maria de Jesus Soliz, Alicia Nieto and Mario Homero (Janie) Rodriguez; 33 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand- daughter; sister, Estefana Cantu; also, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
