Bonnie Jean Perkins, age 58, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her home near Beaver City, Nebraska. Bonnie was born in Holdrege, NE on September 13th, 1955 to Howard and Adella Lienemann.

She graduated from Wilcox High School in 1973 as valedictorian and cheer captain. She then went on to attain three baccalaureate degrees in religious studies, Christian education, and sociology from Anderson University in Indiana and was voted the ‘most valuable player' of Anderson's volleyball team. It was during her college years that Lynn and Bonnie met while working as camp counselors at Camp Joy in Republican City. Married on November 26th, 1977 their relationship not only survived the hectic summers at camp, but it has flourished for 36 years despite the many ups and downs of life.

A woman full of love, grace, and beauty, Bonnie truly loved all that life had to offer, but if asked, she would say that she loved Jesus Christ and her family most. Her passion for the ministry was evidenced by her commitment to pastor the Friendship Center Church for 32 years and serving as a chaplain at Valley Hope for 20 years. She truly sought to serve the Lord in all facets of her life. As a mother, she selflessly loved her children and grandchildren and would sacrifice anything in order for them to pursue their dreams. In addition to her own kids, Bonnie was a mom to many other children that made her house their home and she loved them as her own. If there ever was a moment that she wasn't chasing after one of her children, at a church event, or at Valley Hope, you would more than likely find her outside in one of her beautiful flower gardens. Those that knew Bonnie know that there was not a flower that she didn't like, but the flower she loved the most was the rose.

She is survived by her husband Lynn Perkins of Beaver City, Nebraska, son, Joshua & wife Missy Perkins, and their children Noah, Bella, & Lily, daughters, Jenee Perkins, Janae Perkins, Johanna Perkins, and son, Jeremiah Perkins of Beaver City, Nebraska.

Brothers, Dewey Lienemann and wife Connie of Blue Hill, Ne; David Lienemann and wife Peg of Hildreth, Ne; Dan Lienemann and wife Janet of North Platte, Ne; Wayne Lienemann and wife Linda of Axtell, Ne; sisters Maxine Egley and husband Tom of Mission Viejo, CA; Cheryl Loschen and husband Bill of Hildreth, Ne; Mary Thomas and husband Mike of Lincoln, Ne; Linda Post and husband Jason of Bridgeport, Ne; along with 39 nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Adella Lienemann, father, Howard Lienemann, brother, Vaughn Dale Lienemann and sister, Wanda Lienemann.

Bonnie thoroughly enjoyed her small town community and would not have traded her life in Beaver City for glitz, glamour or the big city. It was here that she found her home; it was here that she came to love the people, and it is here that she has left her legacy. Knowing of her love for Jesus and those around her, we would be amiss if we didn't use her life, once again, to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ. As many have asked what they can do in this time of loss, we believe that she would have wanted us to answer by saying, "all you need to do is to make sure that you can see me once again in heaven".

Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 2 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Ken Breinig, officiating. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
