Ida Gomer, 84, a longtime resident of Paso Robles, Ca. died Monday November 5, 2001, at her residence. Viewing will be held from 2 to 5 pm Sunday at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Templeton, Ca. Burial will be held at the Templeton Cemetery.
Mrs. Gomer was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Regent, N.D. She was one of the original owners of the Paso Robles Waste Disposal Inc. for 44 years and a founding member of the Boys & Girls Club of Paso Robles. Mrs. Gomer was also a 40 year member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Templeton. She was honored in 1998 as Roblan of the Year in Paso Robles. In earlier years she as active in the Eastern Star, the Business & Professional Women, the Quota Club, the North County Republican Women's Club & the Amigos Los Ninos Lady's Club.
Mrs. Gomer is survived by her sons Dennis Gomer & Dale Gomer & wife Kathy. Grandsons Isiah Gomer & Jed Dawson all of Paso Robles. Sisters Helen Witherspoon & husband Jim of Cambria Ca. & Susan Murray & husband Chris. Nieces Linda Witherspoon of Paso Robles & Janice Maier & husband John of Hillsboro, Or., & Shirley Dougan & husband Bill of Portland,Or. Nephews Grant Witherspoon of Ventura & Gary Hohnstein of Springville; & sister-in-law Irene Ramos of Tiburon.
Mrs. Gomer was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Victor Gomer in April of 2001, her mother Martha Romsos, brothers, Theodore & Arthur Romsos. Her mother-in-law Katherine Gomer & sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lydia Gomer Wolf and Mel Wolf also preceded her.
