Donald Richard Eisenschmid was born on Jan. 1, 1932, to Walter August Eisenschmid and Gladys Mae (Andrus) Eisenschmid in Rochester, N.Y., passed away on May 31, 2012. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1949 at the age of 17.

He joined the U.S. Army in September 1949 and was sent to Okinawa as part of the occupation force. He was in Okinawa one month when war broke out. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in July of 1952.

Don worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester from 1952 as an Instrumentation Technician until 1971 when he transferred to Kodak Colorado Division in Windsor. He retired from Kodak on January 1, 1984. He served as support staff for Allnutt Funeral Service for 15 years.

Don married Kate Deuel on Dec. 8, 1973. He had resided in the city of Fort Collins, Colo. since 1971.

Don was a member of First Presbyterian Church since Oct. of 1980, where he served as a Deacon and grounds keeper for four years. He was a member of the 1982 mission trip to Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, Alaska, and the 1998 mission trip to Aqua Prieta, Mexico. His hobbies were playing golf, fishing, woodworking and traveling.

Survived by his wife Kate D. Eisenschmid, daughters, Susan O'Connor (Kevin) of Milliken and Karen Ross of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Andy Ross (Christina), Carly Ross and David Ross all of Fort Collins; two great granddaughters; brothers, Robert Eisenschmid (Marlene) of Rochester, N.Y. and William Eisenschmid (Nancy) of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in Shepardson hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
