Cyrus grew up on the family farm near Oakland, NE, the son of Andrew & Amanda (Colson) Ford. He married Ida M. Sallander about 1913 in Burt county, NE (Marriage book 6). They lived in Oakland, NE and Cyrus drove a grain truck and then was a salesman. In the late 1930's they moved to Omaha, NE where Cyrus worked as a hotel clerk.
Cyrus and Ida had two sons, Cyrus A. and Warren R.; and three daughters, Corrine Paille, Maureen A. Hoblit Ross (died 2009, Fallbrook, CA) and Frances Olson.
