John James Gilseth, 1017 Wrangler Way, Loveland, CO, formerly of Mohall, ND, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 3, 2005. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. He succumbed to his struggle with cancer.

John was born September 1, 1939 in Mohall, ND, the son of Fred and Edna (Kelly) Gilseth. He graduated from Mohall High School and North Dakota State College of Science at Wahpeton.

On December 31, 1958 John married Eunice June Emmel in Kenmare, ND. They lived in North Dakota where he worked on the construction of the missile sites for the Minot Air Force Base. He later worked on the construction of the power plants at Beulah, ND. They moved to Minnesota and Columbia, South America before moving to Loveland in 1969.

John was a Master Electrician and a member of IBEW Union Local 68. He worked most recently for Sturgeon Electric, his last job being at Budweiser, Fort Collins as General Electrical Foreman. He retired in 2001. After retiring he had a passion for many hobbies, especially for restoration of Ford Thunderbirds.

He was a dedicated Christian and truly believed God has a plan and purpose for each life. He and his wife worked with youth groups in Mohall, ND and Fort Collins, CO. They served twice in Columbia, South America with Wycliffe Bible Translators, doing electrical construction.

Survivors: Wife, Eunice, Loveland, CO; son, Mark Gilseth, Loveland; daughter, Terri (Samuel) Steinfath, McKinney, TX; mother, Edna Foster; brothers, Thomas (Phyllis) Gilseth and Fred Gilseth, all of Santa Rosa, CA; sister, Sharon (James) Gohrick, Tacoma, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends also survive.

John was preceded in death by his father, Fred Gilseth and step-father, Floyd Foster.

Funeral: Saturday, December 10, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Faith Baptist Church, Kenmare, ND.

Visitation: Saturday, one hour prior to the service in the church.

Burial: Rosehill Cemetery, rural Norma, ND.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church in Longmont, CO, on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, Kenmare, ND, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
