He was born June 29, 1915, in Sheboygan, a son to Christ and Katherine Yurk. He attended school in Sheboygan. Fred served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a life member of the American Legion Brown-Parfitt Post #43 and the Schultz-Klemp-Wentland V.F.W. Post #5278 in Ripon. In 1937, he married Leone Gardenier in Ripon. Fred retired in 1980 from Admanco, formerly the Ripon Advertisers.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Sandra (George) Koller of Ripon and Marlene (David) Wahoski of Portland, OR; 1 sister, Pauline "Sally" Eckert of IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 1 son; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
