Son of George and Nellie Bicker, of 22, Cornett Rd., Aintree, Liverpool.

Claude Thomas Bicker was born in Carlisle, Cumbria in 1895.
Claude was a book seller in the City of Liverpool when he signed up as a volunteer to contribute to the war effort in Liverpool on 11th January 1915. He was 20 years old and enlisted into the Kings Liverpool Regiment and was posted to the 89th Brigade Depot with the number 24678.
In July 1916, Claude's battalion left Formby and travelled overnight to Folkstone and then onto France. Having been in France for about a month or so, Claude was transferred to the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment and joined their 8th (Service) Battalion with the number 29979.
Claude was attached to the 7th Company of the Machine Gun Corps. On 1st June 1917, the war diary shows that they were in the Wolverghem sector in Belgium and that three men were killed and two wounded at North Midland Farm. Tragically, Claude was one of the fatalities.
