Viola R. "Ollie" Dreher, 79, Topeka, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at a Topeka care center. She was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Topeka, to George and Anna Goetz Allendorf.
She worked for Hallmark Cards for more than 20 years before she retired. She lived in Las Vegas from 1977 until 1998. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. While in Las Vegas, she was a member of Guardian Angel Cathedral.
She married Aloysius John Dreher on Oct. 20, 1946, in Topeka. He died April 29, 1986.
A grandson, Matthew Robert Dreher, died May 31, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Donald G. Dreher, Topeka, and Ronald D. Dreher, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Mary Foreman, Manitou Springs, Colo.; a brother, Gilbert Allendorf, Midwest City, Okla.; a sister, Rita Swalwell, Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Dreher will lie in state after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Topeka Presbyterian Manor, 4712 S.W. 6th, 66606; or the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, Topeka Chapter, P.O. Box 1427.
