24 May 1943: George D. Moonshine [sic], of Annville, died Sunday from a fractured skull, the result of a fall. He was 62 years of age, and was employed a a packer and bagger for many years for the Annville Lime Co. plant at the western end of town, now operated by the H.E. Millard interests. His wife Sallie (Sheffy) Moonshine, passed away 14 years ago. He was said to be a descendant of the Moonshine family which founded the Moonshine Church, near Indiantown Gap. There are seven surviving children, Levi, engaged with the U.S. Army tank division, now in Africa; John, of Annville; Harry, of Lebanon; George, of North Annville; LeRoy, training with an Army engineering outfit, in California; Harold, who is due at Harrisburg tonight for his blood test preparatory to his induction into the armed forces; and Mabel, residing at Upper Darby, Pa.
