Clara Emma Merchant was born on July 3, 1929, in Waconia, the daughter of Otto and Magdalena (Thun) Bollmann. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.
Clara was a loving mom, grandma and great-grandma. During Clara's lifetime, her doors were always open to anyone in need. She took care of many foster children when her own family was still with her, raising them together as a family. In her spare time, Clara liked to go to garage sales.
Clara was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Jean Merchant; father and mother Otto and Magdalena Bollmann; brothers Erwin, Arthur, Henry, Julius and Raymond Bollmann; and sisters Caroline Kuehn, Dorothy Altenhofen, Elsie Pratley, Viola Lovel, Eleanor Krienke, La Verna Curfman and Gertrude Raymer.
Clara is survived by her loving family: sons and daughter-in-law, grandson, great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews, foster children and friends.
Casket Bearers were Charles Merchant, Jim Merchant, Mike Merchant Sr., Mike Merchant Jr., Rick Quast, Adam Gerber.
Arrangements were made with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
